Overview

As part of the Visitor Services unit of the Office of Israel Affairs, Tour Guides are responsible to provide informative tours to groups of people visiting the Bahá’í Gardens in Haifa and ‘Akko. 

Tour Guides work a minimum of 10 shifts of 4 hours each per month.  Tour Guides are scheduled on a weekly basis by the Guide Manager according to the needs of Visitor Services.  The schedule may vary from week to week, and will include Fridays, Saturdays and holy days.

Responsibilities

• Guiding tours – Guiding groups along tour path while ensuring group safety and following Bahá’í World Centre guidelines, while providing information about the Bahá’í Faith and the Bahá’í Gardens
• Supporting tours – Accompany visiting groups along tour path, assist lead Tour Guide to keep order and ensure safety of visitors
• Hosting visitors – Assist with set up and arrangements for hospitality and hosting visitors
• Special projects – Assist with various projects and activities within the unit

Skill Requirements

• Very good spoken command of English and Hebrew (required) and Russian OR Arabic. 
• Experience in guiding, hospitality or similar work
• At least a year of tertiary education or further practical training

Other:

• Must be able to work in either Haifa or ‘Akko
• Willing to work on Saturdays and holydays
